内容提要
MIKHAIL BERKUT is internationally known as a master of Character Dance. A graduate of the Moscow Theatre Institute, he established his reputation in a career in the Soviet Union which included teaching and choreography at the Kitov Academy and Company and the Bolshoi affilsted Sputnik School.
He settled in the West in 1975, founding 'Les Ballets Russes de Montreal'and creating the Character Dance Company 'Kalinka', As well as teaching in universities and dance companies in North America, he has been a frequent guest teacher=choreographer in sill the major dance capitals of Europa. He now lives in London teaching at Royal Bollst School and others.
CHARACTER DANCE combines elements from folk traditions and notional dance styles with the formal slyllsatlons of classical Ballot. It is a genre with a long and distinguished history, both in populer dance and the classical opera and ballet repertoire.
