MARJORIE WEINMAN SHARMAT has written more than 130 books for children and young adults，as well as movie and TV novelizations。Her books have been translated into nineteen languages。The award-winning Nate the Great series，hailed by Booklist as “groundbreaking，”was inspired by her father，Nathan Weinman。Marjorie Weinman Sharmat and her husband，Mitchell Sharmat，have written many books together，including the Olivia Sharp seriers，based on his concept of detective Olivia Sharp，Agent for Secrets。
MITCHELL SHARMAT was born in Brookline，Massachusetts，and is a graduate of Harvard University。Best known for the wildly popular Gregory，the Terrible Eater，a Reading Rainbow Feature Selection，he has written numerous picture books，easy readers，and novels and contributes to many textbook reading programs。The idea for a Nate the Great mystery set on a train came to him when he read a San Franciso Chronicle review describing Nate as“a pint-size-Hercule Poirot…with panache。”Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express sprang immediately to mind。Nate the Great on the Owl Express is the result。
