The beginning was called "Empire Day". In 1948, "the Empire Day" was abolished.
Since 1952, a people's social campaign thrived. As a result, "the Empire Day" was revived as "the National Day" in 1966. That we "develop a heart to love a country in celebration of the founding of a country" is defined as it's purpose.
