◎Be cautious when commend or criticize
The teachers in America are seldom to commend a student in public places. One the one hand,they think that it is a hint that others student are worse then the one who is commended, it would make him be self-complacent and high-headed. One the other hand,it would make the student overweight the reputation and simply please the teacher instead of exert his portential. It would mislead the students. And once he can't get the teachers' commend,he will be frustrated by this. But the teachers are also feel troubled with criticize a student. They are very cautious to choose words. They don't want the student to refuse the criticize mentally because the wrong way of criticizing.
◎Do not to compare to others student
The American think that there are many way to weigh things so they never portest about comparing one student to others. Because they think every student is a independent one,they have their respective strongpoints and shortcomings. So they instruct students according their own characteristic,they help the student to understand themselves.因此，美国学生没有体会过看成绩排名时心中乱跳的感觉(不会翻><)。

In American school there are many competition to imporve the students' ability. What make the student exciting is the prize not the place in that competition. The students get what they want through their self-strive,they think this is the absolutely necessarily living skill in todays society.

American teachers always believe in positive teaching. Whenever they make compliments, they emphase on specific good behaviors. For example, the teachers would say,” I like the way Johnny sits.” Or “ I am so proud of Mary. She cleans up her toys today.” “Compliment on David for using the magic words with his classmates.” Remarks like these are clear and fair so that other children know very well what the teachers expect them to do. When the teachers make critical remarks, again it is the undesirable behaviors that should be addressed. “ I am so disappointed that Johnny didn’t do his homework. “ David, it is very rude to do that. Do you want others treat you the same way you treat them?” Remarks like these are avoided,” Linda is good . David is bad . The teachers don’t purposely set up role models or elites. All students are considered excellent as long as they do what they are told.

Do not one child to another.
The American teachers think that there are many ways to weigh things so they never compare one student to another. Because they think each individual is unique. They respect the differences of each student. They believe everybody can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way. They organize instructions so that all students are given the opportunity to learn what is being taught. ◎Encourage cooperative learning and discourage elitism.
In American schools students learn about group cooperation or teamwork. Everybody can make contributions to a group project. When children take part in a contest, they care more about the process rather than the rankings. They are taught to feel good about themselves. Some children are talented in art. Some children are talented in math. So everybody is special in a certain way.
