would be cool to incorporate the cute comics into my blog entries,
since the comics were inspired from true stories (^^)
Hi，你们喜欢我的上一篇blog吗？我很喜欢香蕉的寓言。这次在上海，我和画漫画的郭彭子见了面。我觉得在我的blog里面配上可爱的漫画也满cool的，其实这些漫画都是来源于真实的生活的。
Anyway… Everyone on my mom’s side of the family loves to sing
karaoke at home. In fact, even my grandmother, seventy-six years my
senior, enjoys singing karaoke! I remember when I was little, maybe
around two years old, my mom and grandmother would sing karaoke
with each other in our living room while I’d be playing with my
toys behind the couch, just minding my own business – or so they
thought *evil laughter*
总之,我妈妈这边的亲戚都非常喜欢唱卡拉OK.实际上，甚至是比我大76岁的外婆也喜欢唱卡拉OK.我记得我小时候，大概两岁的时候，我妈妈和外婆在家里的起居室里面唱卡拉OK，我在旁边的沙发上玩我自己的玩具，我专心致志的玩自己的，至少她们是这么认为的。*恶魔笑*
I don’t remember this specific story myself, but I’ve heard
mom tell it a number of times, so I guess it’s got to be true.
Just like any other day, mom and grandmother were practicing their
singing skills on our karaoke machine in the living room, and I was
playing with my toys behind the couch. A song called “Jiao Dao”
was quite popular at that time and I had heard mom and her friends
sing it a few times before already. Grandma decided to give her
vocal chords a little work out and decided to give “Jiao Dao” a
try too. Grandma got up and with lots of courage for a seventy
eight year old, began to belt out the tunes~
我自己其实不太记得这个故事，但是妈妈和我说过好多遍，所以我想应该是真的吧。像平常一样的某日，妈妈和外婆又在起居室练习唱歌技巧或者测试卡拉OK机，我也像往常一样在沙发后面玩玩具。那时候有一首很流行的歌叫做“交道”，我听过妈妈和她朋友唱过好多次了。外婆想挑战一下自己的嗓子决定试着唱这首歌。外婆于是鼓起勇气以78岁高龄的嗓子唱出了音调。
Well, apparently, after a few lines into the song, without
lifting up my head or breaking away from my toys, I said out loud,
“婆婆你走音”. HAHAHAHA~ mom was shocked at the blunt comment I
made and to save grandma from embarrassment, she said to me, “Baby
doesn’t know what she’s talking about. If you’re so smart,
Joyce, why don’t you give the song a try?”
外婆唱了几句之后，我头也没抬并且还在边玩玩具边大声说，婆婆你走音了！哈哈哈哈，妈妈对于被我突然来得这么一句评论很吃惊，为了给婆婆解窘，她对我说，你知道什么是走音啊，如果你真这么能干的话，JOYCE，你来唱一唱啊！
I leapt up and cried, “好啊!” I took the microphone and sang
the song without going off key! Haha… mom says that was the first
time she realized I had a knack for singing *blush*
我站起来说，好啊。我于是拿起麦克风一个音都不差的唱了起来。哈哈，妈妈说那是她第一次发觉我有唱歌的天赋。
It’s funny, cuz even tho I don’t remember that happening, I
can still remember the entire song, all the lyrics seventeen years
later~ (^^) Maybe one day, when I have my own concert
(diiiiiiiistant future), I’ll have my grandmother as one of my
guests and we’ll sing “Jiao Dao” together n share our family
song with everyone!
真有趣，但是我已经不记得这件事了。但是我还记得17年前的这首歌，包括所有歌词，也许有一天我能开自己的演唱会（那是以后啦），我就会邀请外婆作为我的表演嘉宾，和我在台上一起演唱“交道”这首歌，作为我们的家庭之歌，和大家分享。
