In just over thirty years Rosemount Estate has established itself as one of the Australia’s leading wineries, producing a selection of fine wines that reflect the riches of the Australian terrain climate.
From its original base in the Upper Hunter Valley, Rosemount has extended its vineyard interests to another seven distinct viticultural regions-Mudgee and Orange in New South Wales, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Mclaren Vale and Langhorne Creek in South Australia and most recently north of Heathcote in Victoria. Rosemount’s goal is to match soil and climate conditions to ideal grape partners over a diverse range of classic varietals and wine regions.
Rosemount has always been a prolific award winner. Two decades ago the 1980 Rosemount Show Reserve Chardonnay won a Double Gold Medal at London’s prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition, a feat matched only by Penfolds Grange amongst Australia wines. More recently, Rosemount was the first non-American company to win the highly regarded “Winery of the year” award at the 1999 San Francisco International Wine Competition. In 2000, the company capped a triumphant end to the century with an unprecedented performance at London’s International Wine & Spirit Competition, winning “Winemaker of the year”, ”Best Australia Producer” and “Best Blended Red Wine” trophies.

Palate: A full flavoured wine with upfront redcurrant and rhubarb flavours. The round and soft merlot mid-palate leads to a long, integrated oak finish.
Vintage Conditions
The 2005 vintage was of consistent good quality across all regions. Favourable seasonal conditions - particularly mild temperatures, with few sustained hot periods, and moderate and generally well timed rainfall - resulted in good quality and steady ripening of fruit, with full varietal characters being developed.
Maturation
Small parcels of this wine were oak matured for six months.
