In just over thirty years Rosemount Estate has established itself as one of the Australia’s leading wineries, producing a selection of fine wines that reflect the riches of the Australian terrain climate.
From its original base in the Upper Hunter Valley, Rosemount has extended its vineyard interests to another seven distinct viticultural regions-Mudgee and Orange in New South Wales, Coonawarra, Adelaide Hills, Mclaren Vale and Langhorne Creek in South Australia and most recently north of Heathcote in Victoria. Rosemount’s goal is to match soil and climate conditions to ideal grape partners over a diverse range of classic varietals and wine regions.
Rosemount has always been a prolific award winner. Two decades ago the 1980 Rosemount Show Reserve Chardonnay won a Double Gold Medal at London’s prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition, a feat matched only by Penfolds Grange amongst Australia wines. More recently, Rosemount was the first non-American company to win the highly regarded “Winery of the year” award at the 1999 San Francisco International Wine Competition. In 2000, the company capped a triumphant end to the century with an unprecedented performance at London’s International Wine & Spirit Competition, winning “Winemaker of the year”, ”Best Australia Producer” and “Best Blended Red Wine” trophies.

Colour: Dark red with purple hues.
Nose: A lovely sweet, perfumed strawberry and raspberry nose with hints of darker mulberry fruit. More complex black fruit notes give extra depth and weight.
Palate: Lovely Grenache fruit flavours wash over the palate meeting headier, blackberry Shiraz notes that add weight and texture. A big and full flavoured wine that is very soft and easy to drink.
Vintage Conditions
2006 showed a good start to the vintage across all regions with the potential to be a good cropping year. Budburst and flowering were good in most districts and rain in Spring promoted luscious growth. Mid January experienced a dramatic climate change with a long period of intense heat which brought the vintage on a lot sooner than normal.
Maturation
Parcels of this wine were matured with oak.
