作者简介

John Knowles, a graduate of Phillips Exeter and Yale, wrote seven novels, a book on travel, and a collection of short stories. He was a recipient of the William Faulkner Award and the Rosenthal Award of the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He lectured widely to university audiences.Knowles died in zooi at the age of seventy-five.
