Hi there, how are you? I'm alex. I am also new, because I just started 5 days ago.
People often asked English word and homework questions on this board. If anything could be found easily from a dictionary, it would not be interesting at all. I saw similar questions again and again. This is an English corner. However, 90% of participants asked and answered in Chinese. It seemed that very few participants expected their answers typing in English.
Many often ask about how to improve their English skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking areas.) Unfortunately, they don't like to try the real English essay question, such as "How to swim in different styles?" (Participants are required to answer in English writing along with their personal experiences or techniques. It can be just a short essay or simple response.)
The very common things I have seen on this board are that people really have many English questions. Only very few nice people really really tred to help and answered the questions professionally. Others seemed to come here just for collecting useless points for building up their reputation. The funny thing I saw yesterday. A participant chosed the worse English answer "French say good listen" as his/her best answer. What was that? Somehow, I really don't understand if they really needed help, or they simply wanted to blindly find any friend's answer for the best vote.
This English board is almost no more than a live English-Chinese dictionary. You know what I mean. Anyway, many got their prompt answers from the human dictionaries.
Will there be any creativities?
Your topic is fun, so I just stopped by dropping down some thoughts.

最好每次活动有一个鲜明的话题,大家都有兴趣谈论,这样活动就能开展号。如果只是为说英语而说英语,慢慢地就门可罗雀了。另外寻找几位外国朋友参与不失为一种有效的方法。
