The Department of Labor
”Medical Treatment Period” is referred as the period for employees who suffered from illness or non-work-related injuries and need to stop working to be cured, but is not permitted to terminate labor contract.
Employee who suffered from illness or non-work-related injuries and need to stop working to be cured should be given medical treatment period from three months to twenty-four months according to his practical working period and the working period in this unit:
The first article is applicable for the employees who have less than 10 years of practical working period. The employees who have worked in this unit for less than 5 years will be given 3 months medical treatment period; while those who have worked in this unit for more than 5 years will be given 6 months medical treatment period.
The second article is applicable for the employees who have more than 10 years of practical working period. The employees who have worked in this unit for less than 5 years will be given 6 months medical treatment period; those who have 5-10 years working period will be given 9 months medical treatment period;those who have 10-15 years working period will be given 12 months medical treatment period;those who have 15-20 years working period will be given 18 months medical treatment period; those who have more than 20 years working period will be given 24 months medical treatment period.
